Scenically full of contrasts, North Mallorca is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and unspoilt areas of the island.

Pollença
The municipality of Pollença is located at the northern end of Mallorca, within the mountain range of the Serra de Tramuntana, which is the island´s most extensive and valuable natural space. It is without doubt one of the most emblematic places in Mallorca, both due to its spectacular landscapes where the land and sea meet, and its traditions, which are the result of its intense history.
The village of Pollença was founded in 1229, when King Jaume I brought Mallorca into the Christian world and introduced Catalan culture. The square of Plaça Major, which is surrounded by bars which fill up during the months of summer, is the centre of the village.

Cala Sant Vicenç
Cala Sant Vicenç, which is situated within the municipality of Pollença on Mallorca´s northern coast, is a small tourist resort made up mainly of small summer homes.
There are also hotels and apartments here, which, together with a few holiday homes, comprise the range of tourist accommodation in this peaceful location. There are some restaurants but not many shops. Beaches are one of the main attractions in Cala Sant Vicenç.

Port de Pollença
El Port de Pollença, which is located on the Bay of Pollença in the north east of Mallorca, is the tourist resort chosen by the majority of tourists who opt to spend their holidays in a hotel or apartment within the region of Pollença. It is built along the coast, with a promenade for pedestrians next to the beach, which is where most of the bars, cafés and restaurants are located. It is not one of the island´s larger resorts and the hotels and apartments here are low-rise buildings. The resort has all the services needed to enjoy a holiday by the sea in a cosmopolitan and exclusive environment with unique surroundings and is a gathering point for people from different parts of Europe.
The marina at Port de Pollença attracts a great number of pleasure craft and it is the departure point for the boats which run trips along the coast to the peninsula of Formentor, which is one of the most beautiful and popular spots on Mallorca.

Alcúdia
Alcúdia is at the north-east of Mallorca, in the peninsula between Alcúdia´s and Pollença´s Bays.
It´s one of Mallorca´s most attractive spots, with broad beaches and unique natural sites, like the Albufereta humid area -still undamaged by human action- and the Albufera Gran of Mallorca -included in the Albufera´s Natural Park, and Cap des Pinar´s mountains and forest.
There are also Mallorca´s most important Roman remains: Pol·lèntia city and its theatre. A medieval rampart and many prehistoric deposits as well.

Port d´Alcúdia
Port d´Alcúdia, in the north-east of Mallorca, is one of the main tourist towns in the island. It has got a waste choice of hotels and apartments that can lodge thousands of visitors. It is sited just at the north of the long -8,5 km.- beach in Alcúdia´s Bay, one of its main attractive spots.
From the beach southwards, there are some canals and ponds surrounded by hotels, apartments and villas -many of them used summer residences-, included in the humid area called Albufera Gran de Mallorca, now being Albufera Natural Park: a broad area preserved in its natural condition.
In Port d´Alcúdia not only an excelent accommodation choice can be found, but also a wide range of shops, restaurants, a water park bars and discos which provide a lively nightlife all summer, every day of the week.

Palma de Mallorca (special!)
Palma de Mallorca is the capital of the island of Mallorca and, with 358,462 registered residents, is home to around half the island´s inhabitants. Practically all of the Mediterranean cultures and civilisations have left their mark here, but it is tourism which has given the island its current form and provided economic dynamism.
Being a tourist city, Palma has a wide range of bars and restaurants, especially in the city centre. The area around La Plaça de la Llonja contains many fashionable bars and restaurants that form part of Palma´s nightlife scene, and the area which spreads out west along the Passeig Marítim has a similar range of establishments.
